Accessibility

We must make all aware that our site is located on a steep-sided coastal bay. Due to this, our site, the immediate area and access routes are steep with many irregular pathways and steps.

We aim to ensure that all our guests have comfortable facilities, all requests are dealt with efficiently, and everyone is made to feel welcome throughout their stay. As far as possible we will accommodate the requirements of all our guests. We will explain our facilities and do our best to meet guests’ specific requirements.

The Cary Arms operates a valet parking service for all residential guests to the residents' car park. When you arrive to check in, please park on the forecourt immediately in front of the building. If the forecourt is full, please park on the public car park and let us know straight away of your arrival and we will help you park. Please note, the public car park is chargeable after 10 minutes. Any damage caused to a vehicle will be the responsibility of the owner of the vehicle. Guests also have the option to parking their own car and assistance will be given to access our guest car park.

Please note that 76 irregular and steep steps make up the route to the car park if you wish to access it yourself.

Although we have tried to be as accurate and include as much detail as we can in our Access Statement, we are always willing to give information on any aspect of the hotel if this statement does not answer your particular query.

Reception

We offer a free secure car park for our residents close to the hotel. We offer valet parking for our guest cars and bring them to the reception forecourt on request. Please note 76 irregular and steep steps make up the route to car park if wishing to access yourself.

Porter service is available to assist guests with luggage
When checking-in, reception staff will note if guests will need assistance in the event of an evacuation and this forms part of the night porter brief.

Public rooms in the hotel

A first part of the Inn is easily accessible, then there is one step to the main part.
Our conservatory can be accessed by wheelchairs via the French doors.
There is one step to access the hotel bar.
There are steps to the residents' lounge, and waiter service is available.
All corridors and public areas are well lit.
There are 3 steps to the toilets, and the ladies' have baby changing facilities.
All diets can be catered for, although advance notice is helpful.
Larger print menus are available on request.
Highchairs are available and may be used in all areas.
The restaurant lighting is even but can be varied using dimmer switches.
Dogs are allowed in selected areas of the hotel.
Door frames and doors are painted contrasting colours to the walls in the public areas.
Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the public rooms and all of the bedrooms.

Bedrooms

Of the bedrooms, there is one bedroom which is suitable for those with restricted mobility with walk in shower.
We have a direct dial telephone, an audio alarm that is activated by the fire alarm and smoke alarms in every bedroom
The bedrooms and bathrooms are generously proportioned but some provide more turning and transfer space than others
We try as far as possible to allocate bedrooms based upon individual guest needs, prior requests ensure the room of your choice is available
Emergency procedures are posted on the door to each bedroom and are explained upon check in for any guests with impairments upon request.
Every bedroom has digital television with remote control

All of our bedding is available non-allergenic on request
All rooms are non-smoking in compliance with current legislation
Furniture within the rooms can be moved.
Some bedrooms are carpeted, some bedrooms have slate floors
Bedroom lighting can be switched on at the entrance to the room and also within the room
Bathroom, Shower-room and / or WC
All bathrooms have non-slip floor shower mats
Bathroom lighting is very bright with white toilets, shower trays, baths and basins
