There’s a fun-filled calendar of festivals and events in Torbay throughout the year. Across Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and the whole English Riviera, an abundance of coastal celebrations, food festivals, cultural extravaganzas and spectacular displays light up our stunning local area.

Torbay Royal Regatta

Friday 21st August - Monday 24th August 2026

If there was one event in Torbay that summed up the summertime, it’s the Royal Regatta. The first yachting regatta in the UK to be granted royal patronage, it’s been a highlight of the season for over 200 years.

Set against coastal splendour, Torquay has some of the finest sailing waters in the world. Central to the event is the IRC South West Championship, as well as the Impala, J/24 and RS21 National Championships. Two courses across the bay that will bring the thrills and spills.

On the shore, a stunning ensemble of harbourside cafes, bars and restaurants keeps the refreshments flowing. A lively atmosphere awaits at the Commodore’s Reception, themed party nights and prize-giving ceremonies.

International Agatha Christie Festival

Saturday 12th September - Sunday 20th September 2026

Celebrate the life of the Queen of Crime - or the Crime Novel, at least - at the Agatha Christie Festival. This eight-day festival is held in Torquay- her birthplace and home town - and is split into a four-day Fringe Festival and a four-day Literary Festival.

Get involved in events and talks on her ever-popular works. 2026 will see the first appearance of Amber Butchart, turning her extensive knowledge of fashion history to Agatha Christie’s life and work. There are also afternoon teas with a murder mystery plot, film screenings in underground caves, exhibitions, music events, and a garden party with an Agatha-themed twist.

Outside the festival, you can follow in her footsteps across the English Riviera with our dedicated guide.

England’s Seafood Feast

Monday 21st September – Sunday 4th October 2026

Did you know that the English Riviera has been named England’s Seafood Coast? And for good reason. The world-famous Brixham Fish Market is home to the UK’s finest seafood, where the nation’s top chefs source the finest coastal ingredients.

England's Seafood Feast is a two-week event in Torbay that celebrates this truly special accolade. Dive into a world of expertly crafted seafood dishes, exclusive tasting menus and special seafood-inspired events. Chef’s demonstrations, seafood safaris, catch-and-cook experiences and wine pairing sessions help you savour every bite.

Celebrate at the Cary Arms & Spa with Gastro Fish Evenings and the venue’s signature Monkfish Hot Dog, served throughout the festival as a creative twist on classic seaside dining, all enjoyed against the stunning backdrop of Babbacombe Bay.

Brixham Pirate Festival

2027 - dates to be confirmed!

Rooted in Brixham’s lively maritime history, this family-friendly festival in Torbay is billed as "the annual gathering of the world's most infamous pirates and lowly scallywags". It’s a popular and vibrant celebration of seafaring folklore that is sure to capture your family’s imagination.

Catch the unique sight of a whole town decked out in their piratical best to the sound of sea shanties, seagulls and cannons. There’s plenty of pirate antics and entertainment to be found. Live music, street theatre, historical re-enactments, fancy dress competitions, and some special ships in the town pontoon.

In the evenings, the harbourside bars throw open their doors, offering extra rations of rum. What more could you aaaargh-sk for? (Sorry!)
